Today, our group conducted a series of tests at the UF Coastal Engineering Lab on SW 6th St. in Gainesville. With the help of the Lab Manager, we ran the newly refurbished wave tank (which may be the oldest in the country) for approximately 90 minutes, during which we generated waves, of periods 4 seconds and 1 second, and an opposing current, of yet to be determined velocity. These tests were conducted to prepare for a deployment (Mon-09-23-2013) of the Nortek ADCPs at the Cape Canaveral shoals for a collaborative project with UF Fisheries.
